Chaplain
The office of chaplain was inaugurated in 2001 to enhance Meadville Lombard’s hospitable and welcoming community. As chaplain, the Reverend Nan Hobart:

• provides pastoral support to students, families, staff, and faculty
• coordinates the worship life of the community
• engages students and others in spiritual exploration and vocational discernment
• attends to issues and concerns of community life
• serves as a mediating presence when appropriate

Rev. Hobart, who is also Director of Admissions and Vocation, says of her role as chaplain: “I am diligent about maintaining an accessible and welcoming presence. It is my practice to let nothing be more important than the person coming to my door or calling on the phone. I am very fortunate to be able to practice such a rich and engaging pastoral ministry among the spirited and dedicated people who make up this community.”
