April 2, 2007
Meadville Lombard is pleased to announce that three of the five winners of the 2007 Richard Borden and Paul Holton Awards for Sermonic Excellence are current students of the school.
Jessica Purple Rodela, currently on Internship at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo, won second prize for her contribution: "Can't we all just get along? Loving your (political) opponent."
Runners up included David Breeden, a second year student in the residential program at Meadville, and Holly Anne Lux-Sullivan, a second-year student in our Modified Residency Program.
The Unitarian Universalist Association will post the winning sermons on their website in the coming weeks, and all of the winners received an award certificate and a cash prize of $8,000.
