Glenn Solomon Glenn Solomon spent most (35+ years) of his professional career in compensation management. He held positions at two major health-care facilities in Cleveland, Ohio, managing the pay and benefits program for 15,000 employees. He developed expertise in pension funds, both defined benefit and defined contribution plans, designing, implementing and managing them. He also was instrumental, during the early 1980s, in creating one of the first self-funded health plans in the country. He also was responsible for planning and implementing one of the first flexible benefit plans for a large health-care organization. The plan included the ability for employees to subscribe to more health benefits (dental, eyecare plans, etc.) and/or reduce the cost of their contributions for coverage, as well as the ability to contribute to a 403(b) plan. Glenn has been a UU for over 35 years. He has been a member of the Cleveland Society all this time, serving on many congregational committees, including the Board of Trustees. He currently chairs the Finance Committee. He is also active in the Ohio-Meadville District having been on several committees and the Board, including Treasurer for two years. He just completed 10 years as the District's Compensation Consultant. He is currently a member of the UUA's Compensation Benefits and Pension Committee. He and Pat (OMD's UUA Trustee) have three grown sons and four grandchildren. they enjoy traveling and being at their house on Lake Chautauqua, in western New York state, when they can. | |
