Kurt Steele
Kurt Steele is a 25-year Unitarian Universalist, most recently at All Souls in New York City. He received a B.A. from Colgate University, M.A. from the University of Chicago, and a J.D. from Columbia University. He has worked in various legal and business positions for a number of firms: the New York City law firm of Sidley Austen Brown & Wood; McGraw-Hill; and Standard & Poor's. Most recently before retiring he was the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Rand McNally in Chicago.
Before joining All Souls in New York City, Kurt served in a number of leadership positions at the Montclair Unitarian Church and the Unitarian Church of Evanston. He has also provided pro bono legal services to Meadville Lombard and served on several working groups with the school's staff. As a community volunteer, he has particularly focused on the issues of mental health, vulnerable populations and education.
