Karen Stoyanoff, MDiv '96
Karen Stoyanoff joins the Meadville Lombard Board of Trustees with great joy. After a career as an educator and trainer, Karen entered Meadville Lombard in 1993. As a student, Karen served as co-president of the student body and received the prize for excellence in preaching when she graduated in 1996.
Currently minister of the Orange Coast UU Church in Costa Mesa, California, Karen is also very active in the community, continuing to live out her original intent to do community ministry.
She serves on the Orange County National Conference for Community and Justice, the Costa Mesa Human Relations Committee, the Advisory Committee for the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center, and the Newport Mesa Irvine Interfaith Council Board. Karen is also active as a member of the UUA President's Council and the Pacific Southwest District Leadership Council. In 2002 she received that district's Distinguished Service Award for Religious Professionals.
Karen says, "It is a great pleasure to be able to serve Meadville Lombard at this exciting time and perhaps repay a few of the many gifts the school has given to me."
