The Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree program at Meadville Lombard is designed to prepare students to enter the ministry. We are a Unitarian Universalist (UU) seminary, but encourage ministerial aspirants of other faith traditions seeking ground-breaking formation experiences with world-class faculty to consider our MDiv degree program.
Through rigorous academic courses and real-world placements in community and conregational settings, our MDiv degree program grounds students in Liberal Theology and the UU faith while providing them with practical, general preparation for the ministry.
In the current, residential format the MDiv typically requires four years for completion, with students leaving for a full-year internship in a congregation during the third year.
Meadville Lombard's MDiv program is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools and satisfies the requirements of the Ministerial Fellowship Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
The MDiv program at Meadville Lombard is undergoing change and a new learning model is planned for students matriculating in the Fall of 2009. We remain committed to providing the best academic and practical formation experience for ministers whether they serve the Unitarian Universalist faith or another faith tradition. |
