Tuition

Meadville Lombard Theological School has instituted a new scale of tuition, based on the expense of offering a course. Consequently, rates for Intensive Courses will be higher than residential courses. Students will be charged the tuition for the specific course, regardless of whether they are matriculated as a Residential or Modified Residency student. The increases are graduated over a three-year period, as outlined below:

2007-2008

• Doctor of Ministry students will be charged $1000 per unit course.

2008-2009

• Doctor of Ministry students will be charged $1025 per unit course.

Fees

The new fee scale will also include these changes:

Course Audit Fee: 50% of full tuition per course (no course credit given)

Application Fee (all programs): $45.00

Matriculation Fee for new students: $50.00

Comprehensive Fee: $105 per academic year (charged quarterly at $35.00 per quarter)

Registration Fees:

• Residential: $140.00 per quarter.
• Intensive: $50.00 per course.
• On-line courses: $50.00 per course.
• Field Education Registration Fees:
  • Internship Fee (includes the internship conference): $600.00 per academic year (charged quarterly at $200 per quarter)
  • CPE: $140.
  • Praxis: $50.00 per quarter registered. 
• Late Registration Fee: $50.00.

Student Activity Fee per quarter: $50.00.

January Convocation Fee: $150.00

Graduation Fee: $125.00

Leave of Absence/Continuing Enrollment Fee:

• Residential: $50.00
• Modified Residency: $50.00 per January Intensive Term

Program Continuation Fee: $400.00 per academic year

• Residential, beyond 4th year (this may be extended to the 5th year for special joint degree or extended CPE programs).
• Modified Residency, beyond 6th year.

Other Fees you should expect:

University of Chicago:

• Health Insurance*: $1004.00 per quarter ($3012 annually)
• Activity Fee for students bi-registered at the U of C: $41.00 per quarter
• Student health services fee for bi-registered students: $153.00 per quarter

*Supplementary (major medical) health insurance and hospitalization is mandatory unless a comparable plan is in effect. This fee is for basic insurance. Identical benefits are afforded the student's spouse/same sex domestic partner/dependents at the same cost per dependent. Arrangements for this coveage must be made with the Meadville Lombard Registrar at the time of registration. Insurance coverage can be arranged for students while on Internship.
