New York City’s Stonewall Riots of 1969 is seen as the genesis of the Gay Rights Movement, however same-sex attraction existed in America well before this.  Long Before Stonewall is an interdisciplinary examination of colonial America and the early Republic and various expressions of same-sex desire in era.

The scope of African American religious studies is widened by this investigation. Pinn’s focus is on popular practices rather than institutional or doctrines.

Theological Reflection: Methods. Elaine Graham, Heather Walton and Frances Ward. BR 118. T46 2005. Methods of theological reflection are ever expanding. Here is one volume a diverse collection of the methods are brought together for comparison along with examples of the various methods applied to current theology in addition to critical commentary about these methods.

In the opening of a new century we experienced many events together and across the internet these events, as well as ones unique as the individuals who experienced them, became the subject of blogging. Gathered here is a collection of these bloggs which open us to the possibility seeing wonder all around us as they open us to the power of timeless myths.

Christianity and American Democracy. Hugh Heclo. BR 517. H45 2007. Democracy in America and Christianity have historically been closely linked. However since the 1960s this relationship has been on a steady decline. Heclo argues that the coming rupture between these two is cause for concern on behalf of Christians and non-Christians alike.
