The Rev. Dr. Nicole C. Kirk is the incoming Rev. Dr. J. Frank and Alice Southworth Schulman Professor of Unitarian Universalist History at Meadville Lombard.
Dr. Kirk will begin teaching the history of Unitarian Universalism to students this fall. She is a candidate this spring to receive the doctor of philosophy degree in American church history from Princeton Theological Seminary and received a doctor of ministry degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in May 2007. While at Princeton, Dr. Kirk has also lectured in the university's religion department and has conducted research in association with the eminent early Christian historian Elaine Pagels of the Princeton religion faculty.
Dr. Kirk received her undergraduate degree in religious studies from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, and a Masters in Divinity degree and an award for outstanding achievement in biblical studies from Vanderbilt University Divinity School. She was ordained in 1999 by East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Kirtland, Ohio, and was their parish minister from 1998 to 2006. She is also a member of the Prairie Group, a UU ministers study group.
