UUFC creates Chautauqua Award for Outstanding Ministerial Student at Meadville Lombard Theological School

The Fellowship, located within the renowned Chautauqua Institution in western New York State, is increasing its connection to the Meadville Lombard Theological School though its newly created “Chautauqua Award.” The Chautauqua Award will be given to a second year, third year, or MRP student who represents outstanding potential for the ministry.  The 2013 recipient will serve as UUFC’s Minister of the Week beginning August 3 – 10, 2013 (Week 7) and will have the opportunity to participate in all the religious, cultural, and academic offerings of the Chautauqua Institution. The awardee will deliver the sermon and conduct the UUFC worship service on August 4th in the Hall of Philosophy; participate in the Minister's Feedback on Monday, August 5th; attend the UU Tea on Tuesday, August 6; and optionally participate in science and dialogue programs with UUFC members.  Gate Passes will be provided to the recipient and a companion, allowing them to enjoy all of the week’s programming.  The UUFC will provide travel expenses and housing in the very nicely appointed UU Denominational House.

This is an extraordinary opportunity reserved exclusively for Meadville Lombard students.

Eligibility: All TouchPoint students who will complete their second or third year by May 2013 and all MRP students are eligible to apply.  Applicants must be available to serve as Minister of the Week from August 3 to August 10, 2013.

Process of Selection: The faculty will review the applications and provide recommendations to the President who will make the final selection.
