Meadville Lombard is one of two UU theological schools in North America with strong affiliations with the Unitarian Universalist Association, its Department of Ministry, and the UUA's Ministerial Fellowship Committee (MFC), which meets annually with students at the school.
Meadville Lombard along with 11 other theological schools in Chicago, is a member of the Association of Chicago Theological Schools. ACTS membership allows Meadville Lombard students access to more than 300 faculty members, 1,000 courses, and excellent libraries in the Chicago area and suburbs.
Meadville Lombard is an institutional member of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF). Historically, many students, alumni/ae, and faculty have served on the IARF/U.S. chapter board.
Meadville Lombard is a member of the Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago, an inter-religious community of leaders from diverse faith traditions. It serves the purposes to come together to know each other personally, professionally, and in their faith commitments and communities; to create opportunities to join together in sharing the prayers and spiritual practices of their traditions in the presence of each other and with the wider public; to expose shared and distinctive dimensions of their faith traditions; to engage in discussions about intra-and inter-religious and civic issues; to provide support for one another and their religious communities when subject to religious prejudice, discrimination, and persecution; and to take action, as people of faith and a community of conscience, on public issues that advance the common good.
Meadville Lombard shares space in the innovative, environmentally sustainable Spertus Institute building, located at 610 S. Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. MLTS is located on the sixth floor of this unique building, which features interconnected interior spaces and a one-of-a-kind, 10-story faceted window wall offering spectacular views of the Chicago skyline, Grant Park, Millennium Park, and Lake Michigan. Meadville Lombard shares library space with Spertus, which specializes in accredited graduate degree and certificate programs in areas that are critical to the Jewish community and to broader communities in Chicago and beyond.
