A Message From Denny Davidoff
Dear Friends, We like to speak admiringly of those men and women who decide to become ordained ministers and leaders in the service of Unitarian Universalism as dedicated, committed, visionary, prophetic, even brave. We are grateful for their presence in our congregations and in our lives. We are less inclined to speak of those men and women who decide to become leaders in the service of our faith as sacrificial. Nonetheless, that’s what the vast majority of them are. To serve us, they go through long years of expensive theological education. They are required to participate in a many months course of Clinical Pastoral Education. To meet all of the requirements for fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Association, they live frugally and amass stunning debt. Forty or fifty or sixty thousand dollars of student loans debt. And then they step boldly into our budget-conscious midst, by and large paid too little to work too hard. Please, please think about the value of your student aid gift to our school. Every dollar that relieves the burden of loan debt from a new minister’s shoulders is a gift to a congregation - yours, mine, all that comprise the UUA. Your gift is an investment in the future of our faith. Be generous! Faithfully, Denny Davidoff Contact the Office of Development and Communications: Support Our Future
