In mid-2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or “CARES Act,” provided emergency funds to institutions of higher education as part of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, or "HEERF."
In December 2020, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021. or "CRRSAA," provided additional funding to colleges and universities in the form of the Higher Education Relief Fund II, or "HEERF II."
In the interest of public information and to provide reporting for the purposes of the Department of Education, Meadville Lombard Theological School (MLTS) has provided this information page summarizing the school’s use of these funds. Every attempt has been made to comply with the reporting guidelines outlined by the Department of Education. As the Department of Education provides further updates, every effort will be made to comply with new or additional reporting guidelines.
As part of Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act, Meadville Lombard Theological School received a total allocation of $26,188 from the Department of Education. MLTS used $13,094 for emergency financial aid grants to students.

In Fall 2020, Meadville Lombard received additional funds under Section 18004(a)(3) of the CARES Act as part of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, or HEERF. Degree-seeking Meadville Lombard students who have experienced financial hardship during the pandemic are eligible to apply for these funds. Meadville Lombard is working to formulate policies and procedures for funds received as part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA). These funds will be part of the Higher Education Relief Fund II (HEERF II). This section will be updated as these policies and procedures are published.
