We’re excited to share some changes to the Wiggin Library’s online catalog, upgrading the look, feel and functionality. The update will go into effect on May 14, 2018.

The major difference for users is the method for logging in to the catalog. After May 14th you will log in using your 14-digit library account barcode number and your last name. There is no password required. Your barcode number can be found on the sticker on the back of your Meadville Lombard ID that you received when you signed up for your library account. Links to be able to request books will only appear after you have logged in. If you do not have access to your barcode number or if you need to create an account to receive one, contact the library by email.

Some highlights of the upgrade:

  • A "Similar Items" feature now offers suggestions for other, similar resources based on your search results.
  • You can now search and browse by call number. This will allow you to “browse” the stacks online, identifying books that are shelved together based on subject. You may also now browse by subject or author.
  • New responsive web design allows the online catalog to be used on screens of any size with full functionality.
  • Chicago Style citation option has been added to the “Cite this” link in a book’s record, in addition to MLA and APA.
  • Options have been added for exporting bibliographic information to RefWorks, EndNote, and EndNote Web - a useful feature for tracking works cited during research.

If you have any questions about the new catalog or would like a tutorial, don't hesitate to contact us.
